One of the the most heart breaking times for me....

We lost our Sophie. Just 2 weeks before we were to move she really became sick and our vet agreed with us that she might not survive the drive from North Carolina to California.
What would we do if she passed while traveling 3000 miles?
She lived a wonderful life for nearly 17 years. She was the best dog ever.
I have a large hole in my heart now and am having a time trying to get through this.
I miss her so very much.
I know she is no longer in pain. I imagine her running on the fairway like she did
a few years ago while living in California.
RUN SOPHIE RUN!!!!!!!!!

I love you SOPHIE!

Well lots has gone on since I was last on my blog. I know, you thought I had dropped of the edge of the earth didn't you? Well almost. So to start off we are finishing a move that started last May 2013!

We decided to make the move back to the west coast. The main reason was for my health. The humidity in North Carolina was really affecting me. The month from May to Oct slowed me down with  the effects of arthritis. It was becoming hard to do my craft at times.

We had also thought that we would try it here in North Carolina for a 3-5 year stint. We wanted to get to know our grandsons. They were really young when they moved here 8 years ago. So we came after retiring and made it our adventure for 4 years. We loved it in North Carolina. The trees the seasons and most of all our neighbors. We had a beautiful home. It was out in the country some what and we just loved it. Then we began to realize that we were more "city" people than we thought.

So we are in California again but only for a short time. We are waiting for  our new home to be completed in Arizona. We lived in an active adult community before and we started to miss the feel of that type of surrounding. Back on the golf course too had alot to do with our move. So Buckeye, AZ will soon be our new home. We close on the 29th of April and will move in right away.

I will be searching out all the craft venues now in Arizona. Really looking forward to it. I will start to blog again as soon as I get my computer up and running again. I have missed my craft now for so many months. Can't wait to get my things unpacked and in there new place. I am sure it will feel like Christmas seeing all my things. Until then...................smile...........

WOW! November Already

Autumn Craft Fair

Well time for another craft fair. I really enjoy doing the craft fairs. I have met so many nice people participating in them. I will see many of them again this Saturday. So I checked my supplies and realized I needed more Christmas items. I made a number of banners and flags for the holidays. So much fun. Gift tags and decorated gift card envelopes are always popular.

My Baby Sophie Turns 16 Years Old Today

My baby girl turned 16 years old today

Sixteen years ago today this little angle was born. I hadn't even thought about getting another dog then.
I didn't know that my husband and daughter were looking for a dog that resembled the one in a picture
I had put on the refrigerator some 5 years earlier. Didn't even know what type of dog it was just that I
liked the picture of this little white dog sitting on the lap of Santa Clause. I had pulled it from a magazine
and just feel in love with this dog.

Well when my husband took me for a ride to see a breeder of  West Highland White Terriers I was very
surprised. This dog really picked us out. She was the one that kept licking my husbands face the whole time
he held her. I didn't want to get attached to another dog. It hurts too much to loose them. Well we left with
her and I have never regretted the day we got her. She has been the perfect dog. A real loyal, loving, playful
pup. She has always been by my side. I love this little creature. She has been a real part of our family.
She really has been a gift from God.

Happy Birthday Sophie!!!

WITCHES ' HANDBOOK 2010

This is my Witches' Handbook that I made in 2010.....

In California I scrapped with three other gals. We had scrapped together for a few years. We always had so much fun. Each week we would go to one of our houses, scrapped in the morning, would break for lunch, (lunch would be done by who's ever house we were at) and then scrap the rest of the afternoon. Our husbands knew not to expect dinner that night. Tuesdays were our "FREE" day. Our play day. And boy did we play. We always hated to stop!

From time to time we would "challenged" each other with an idea of a type of project or book to make. Well this was the challenge for the month of September 2010. Of the four of us, only two of us decided to take the challenge. Well this was going to be interesting. The reason was because I was in the process of moving to the other side of the United States, to North Carolina. Because I was busy packing and getting ready to make the move, my book was going to be made in NC.

Now if you go to the link I am going to give you, you will see why this was so interesting. My friend in CA was making her book and I was making mine. Neither one of us saw each others' book until they were completed. All we could do is laugh! Although our styles are different there are similarities in our books. We had gotten the idea for this book from Sumerset Magazine 2010. The original book was made by Georgiann Carlson. It intrigued us so much that we both thought it would be fun to make, and it was! Our imaginations ran wild as you can see. scrapncathy.blogspot.com

Hope you enjoyed a little scary nonsense.............BOO!

A Great Neighbor Moves Away

One of my favorite neighbors moved back home to Tennessee. Her daughter and I have enjoyed
sharing recipes for over the past three years. She hopes to be a chef in her own restaurant someday.

They have been big supporters of my business. They have always loved my altered books.
So the best gift from me was a book made just for her. Here is a peek at a few of the pages in her book.

She received it just a couple of days ago and called me. She loved it.
We will miss her and her daughter and husband. Sophie, my dog, really misses Mickey, their
little dog. We hope to see them again soon and promise to stay in touch always.

This is Mickey. He always felt right at home whenever he came to visit or stay a day of two.
